The Agency of Creative Industries has released a study of the Russian music market
27.09.2022

The pandemic weakened the concert market and stimulated the growth of streaming. However, now concert activity is gaining momentum, and streaming is experiencing difficulties due to the departure of foreign services, which opens up new prospects for Russian performers.

According to Rossiyskaya Newsper, these data are provided in a study by the Agency for Creative Industries, subordinate to the Department of Entrepreneurship and Innovative Development of Moscow. The study was prepared by the Trust Technologies Company (formerly PwC in Russia) and the K22 Creative Bureau by order of the Creative Industries Agency. Analytics presents the study of Moscow and the Russian music market for 2017-2021. The dynamics of the development of all market segments - the concert industry, creation, monetization and promotion of content - is described. The full text of the study is available on the Agency's official website.

The importance and value of the support of the Moscow Government is noted by representatives of the music industry.

"There is a good trend when the state supports a Russian content producer. This allows companies that work in the creative industries to invest more in the production and development of domestic content. The music business invests a lot in the development of Russian musical groups and in the development of Russian talents - these are quite significant amounts of investment. The more the state provides measures to support the music industry, the more funds music companies will be able to invest in the development of domestic content and in Russian performers," Nikita Danilov, Director General of the National Federation of the Music Industry, says.
