The membership of the Association of Music Companies "National Federation of Music Industry" (NFMI) has significantly expanded

The General Meeting of members of the Association of Music Companies "National Federation of the Music Industry" (NFMI) has accepted domestic music label companies as associate members of the Association: "Black Star", "Lotus Music", "Media Land", "SP Digital".

Pavel Kuryanov, CEO of Black Star, notes: "The modern music market is facing new challenges related to the global conjuncture and the growing demand for content in the digital environment. It is important for Russian music labels and publishers to join joint collaborative to defend their interests before other industries and the state, to develop tools related to stimulating the development of media markets by the government. At the NFMI site, we expect to build an effective intersectoral dialogue and dialogue between the music industry and the state, hoping that our colleagues from the creative and Internet industries, as well as the state, will become partners for the music industry, which will lead not only to its strengthening, but also to the development of digital ecosystems and Internet platforms in general."

"The NFMI faces urgent tasks to protect the interests of authors, artists and copyright holders, as well as to develop the music business in general. To achieve such tasks, it is advisable to build positive relations with related industries, representatives of which are digital streaming services, audiovisual services, broadcasters. We believe that the experience of the NFMI will help to achieve these tasks," said Bakhtiyar Aliyev, CEO of Lotus Music.

"Today, the music industry is a dynamically developing sphere, which is increasingly characterized by the digitalization of services and platforms used. However, legislation and law enforcement practice often lag behind market demands. We hope that the NFMI's experience in representing business interests in other organizations and public authorities will effectively solve this problem, help the music industry to eliminate existing administrative barriers and will contribute to its further growth and development," adds Dana Parimbetova, CEO of Media Land.

"NFMI has established itself as an effective defender and conductor of the interests of the music business. Therefore, the presence of our company in the NFMI will significantly increase the efficiency of our work. Among the priorities of the NFMI, we see the definition of the legal regime of music created with the help of artificial intelligence technologies. There is no creative human involvement in the creation of AI content, so such content should not be protected on a par with objects of copyright and related rights. For the music industry, the priority should be to protect the interests of our authors and performers, including the issue of protecting their digital images and synthesized voice," said Nadezhda Akishina, CEO of SP Digital.

Due to the significant expansion of the composition of the NFMI at the expense of well-known Russian labels, Nikita Danilov's immediate task as CEO of the NFMI will be to consolidate the efforts of the market to stimulate the development of the music industry.

"I am very glad that famous Russian Music Companies that include high professionals have joined the NFMI. Now more than 50% of the Russian music market is consolidated in the structure of the NFMI. There is a unique situation in Russia – domestic services are the most popular here: social networks, search engines, and other resources. However, the Russian market for music content consumption is also unique compared to other countries – domestic performers are extremely popular with us. The rights to Russian content make up a significant part of the copyright holders' library. In my work, I hope to create conditions for regulatory stimulation of the development of the music industry, digital ecosystems and platforms where music content is used and distributed, as well as to protect the interests of copyright holders in connection with the development of modern technologies, including artificial intelligence technologies. I hope that new NFMI member companies, content listeners, the state, and our partners will be able to evaluate the usefulness of the work being done," emphasizes Nikita Danilov, General Director of the NFMI.
